NEW DELHI (Feb 15):  Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, along with Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the chiefs of the three services — Army, Air Force and Navy - paid tributes to the 40 CRPF soldiers in Delhi this evening, as their bodies arrived from Pulwama in south Kashmir.

The PM and other leaders with folded and head bowed, walked around 40 coffins draped in tricolour on Friday evening.

The bodies of the slain soldiers - killed in an attack by Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed – reached Delhi’s Palam air force area in a special C-130J Super Hercules aircraft today. The bodies were received by Home Minister Rajnath Singh and will be sent to their respective cities tomorrow.

Forty CRPF personnel were killed and five injured in the deadliest terrorist attack.

PM Modi today warned that those responsible for the attack had made a "big mistake" and would pay a "very heavy price". In hard-hitting comments at an official event, PM Modi said security forces had been given a free hand to act against terror, according to local media reports.
